Trying new things

So this post comes courtesy to you from the Blogger app that's available on the Apple App Store. I'm not so sure how I feel about creating posts through my iPod, but I'll admit, the camera on this little thing is quite convenient from time-to-time to snap a cute, quick photo of something that I think is funny or memorable, and being able to share them instantly in my blog is kind of nice. We'll just see how long this lasts. I'm not one of those bloggers who snaps photos of every single little thing, but if I were to snap a photo with the intention of taking it home and uploading it to my desktop and posting a group of "now irrelevant photos", I guarantee you that wouldn't happen. I promise I'd forget about whatever silly post I planned on making, and would unintentionally leave my blog to sit and rust for the next 6 months (like what I have basically done for the whole life of this blog).
My goodness, look at me punching my fingers away, in this long-winded of an explanation about this post that was brought courtesy to you of my iPod and the several different features affiliated with it. I guess this was a good test drive of this app, and to see if it will be worth my while in the future to at least (more readily) share all the funny still-life moments in my day-to-day adventures.
So, without further ado, enjoy some fun things that sit on my desk at work :D

Pikachu looks gwumpy sitting next to all those girly, sparkly ponies. He's a man's mouse for crying out loud! I figure 11+ years of riding around in Ash's balls would be enough to prove that. Okay, okay, that joke was a little below the belt.

President Yoshi? Practicing his parade-wave in a yellow Corvette? Or maybe Mariokart
finally got some new rides, instead of those silly little bumper cars and motorbikes.

Green Penguins? A cute little pad of tear-off notes I found this past weekend.

OH MY GOSH UPDATE

so,
I'm really trying to continue this trend and just share some random things. I'm contemplating a fairly personal post that I'll make fairly open-ended...soon! It will be accompanied by a little piece of artwork that I started a couple weeks ago for some fun, and it brought back a lot of unpleasant memories as I drew it.
But, this is now! And, I don't really have that much interesting things to show. Work has been killer the last week or so, but tomorrow is Friday...yay! I've just been soooooo tired this whole week, and there were a lot of unexpected things that emerged from this week. uuuuuuggghhh! but this pretty much sums up how I feel about this week:
yea, I have a natural-born talent for vomiting out psychadelic clouds surfed by a unicorn. Go me!

But in the non-stopness of this week, last week I finally managed to get a cork-board mounted that I had purchased a year ago! I wanted to pin sketches/ideas that have strong potential of being finished up near my workspace. Or else they get folded or stashed in a pile and forgotten about. I always have to go through my piles of looseleaf papers and rediscover my ideas...and sometimes it's just frustrating to constantly forget what I should be working on! So check it out!

Long time no see

Hey all!
Well, in my attempt to better maintain my webspace, here is a post! I must confess, the main reason why I've been so inactive is, well, I don't think about my presence on the social network. When I come home, I don't sit down and surf the web for hours. I'm not involved and I'm not active in that sort of thing. So, naturally, I forget to update these things. I'm going to try to maintain a set schedule of updating something at least once a week, and see how that goes and how involved I'll get.
Sadly, I also think to myself "oh why bother, who's going to see it anyway?" Which is totally the wrong mindset. So I'm thinking that, if I don't keep a journal to update everybody else on my happenings, well, maybe I should keep a journal for myself so I can see for myself what's happening in my life. And I think it will be fun, to scroll back every now and then and remember/realize how things have changed for me. How far I've come in life, how much I've grown. To see the things that I remember being a huge deal for me that were in reality, quite small and irrelevant. It's always fun to look back and reflect. And that's what I want this journal to be--pure reflection.
So, to kickstart this blog, you'll find above some random photographs and doodles that I've produced in the past couple of months. I'm hoping to fill this blog with collages like this, but mostly with random photographs from my life that won't be uploaded onto my website. So be prepared to see lots of random pictures of random spaces, random toys, random 3D projects, and pictures of my animals.

Time for a change

Hey folks,

well, life being interesting as always, just took another turn for me. the other day i got a call from Microcenter, in response to a graphic design position that i partially remember applying for, and was asked to come in for an interview. went in for that...and well, the next day i was offered the position! so, i'm very excited to start putting my degree to work, and get some new experience under my belt!

so, here's a piece that i've been working on and off for the past 5 months or so...but enjoy!

guuuhhhhhh

well, it took a while, but i finally found a job!...actually, to be precise, a couple!

about a week ago i interviewed with a small, but very well-established company, and they asked me to come on board as a freelance graphic designer! i accepted that position, and yesterday, as a matter of fact, the lady who owns the business has a son who's a CCAD alum actually called me yesterday to tell me that he wants to send me some of his projects for me to work on (separately from what I'm doing for his mom's business)!!!!!!!

and then last friday i actually had an interview at Jo-Ann Fabrics for a position in their custom framing department!!!!! i was soo excited about that job because it would be a steady/weekly paycheck and it wouldn't exactly be a "retail" job where i'd get stuck stacking shelves full of inventory. and plus, Jo-Ann is like a candy store to me, so if i could get a job their maybe i could get some nice employee discounts and such!!!! so this morning i called the lady who i interviewed with and she offered me the job!!!! yay!!!!

so, it's basically nothing grand...but oh my gosh it's something to help pay the bills and get that scary student loan outta my way!

but all this time i haven't been sitting on my butt twiddling my thumbs...i have been doing a lot of art. none of my crazy paper illustrations, but i've been spending a lot...and i mean A LOT of time in my sketchbook. i've also been watching my boyfriend play the new castlevania game, Lords of Shadow...and ohmaigoodness that game is soooooo gorgeous!!! the environments are soo amazing and compelling! and that's actually inspired me to work on my concept environment skills. it's nothing i've been too strong in...but i haven't really tried.

but ohohohohohohohoh my goodness i'm soo realieved right now it's crazy!

Oh Billy Joel...where have you been all my life pal?

it's been a rough week...things today have been equally rough in a couple areas of my life. But finally had a chance to crack open the ol' sketchbook in like a week without being totally exhausted...on top of listening to Billy Joel...how much better can life get...seriously?

oh Piano Man...you touch my heart somehow
